Using a supported version?

  • I have searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
  • I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.

Overall summary

Copying from the Signal Desktop Feedback, as a moderator suggested this is an actual bug.

If I have a poll with multiple options and I delete all of the text of one of them, that option is immediately removed and I’m editing the beginning of the next option. This means if I want to re-type a whole option, I must either 1) delete all but one letter, type in the new option, delete the leftover letter, or 2) select-all and then type in the new option.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enter a group chat
  2. Click the "+", select "Poll"
  3. Enter multiple options
  4. Focus a non-final option
  5. Delete all of the text within

Expected result

The option remains alive while I edit it, regardless of contents.

Actual result

The option is immediately deleted and the next option is focused.
