HOW TO : Resolve local hostname with local domain name (home.arpa) ?

I read carefully this page https://pymumu.github.io/smartdns/en/config/resolv-dnsmasq-lease/

Unfortunately, I add "dnsmasq-lease-file" parameters ; and it works partially -> request "mylocaldevicename, type = A, class = IN" is correctly responded but not when I made request local hostname with local domain name (e.g. mylocaldevicename.home.arpa)

Any help would be appreciated !

mdns-lookup yes
nameserver /home.arpa/mdns

Thanks for the reply ; But it doesn't work (I just tried).
A slightly difference ; before adding your lines request was forwarded to 2 authority records (prisoner.iana.org & a.gtld-servers.net)
With your lines -> only one authority record (a.gtld-servers.net).
But unfortunately no use of dnsmasq lease file ;( for my local domain (home.arpa)
Any another idea ?

But I don't have a specific web server for "home.arpa" I just want SmartDNS resolve using DNSMasq leases (so I don't have x.x.x.x)

The hostname in the dnsmasq lease file does not contain the local domain name, so smartdns cannot resolve when using the full domain name.
Expect to use mdns to resolve the full hostname. but this is possible for some systems.

他这个需求和 #861 #1113 是一样的。
比较简单的实现就是判断查询的域名后缀如果匹配到本地dns后缀（dhcp opiton 15）时去掉这个后缀，然后作为wins查询。mdns目前支持有限，尤其某些wifi环境或容器环境限制多播，以及windows的不完整支持

Ok ; I understand missing a parameter like "local-onldy" (dnsmasq) -> Add the domain to simple names in file /etc/hosts
#local-only domain(s) : queries in these domains are answered from /etc/hosts or DHCP only (no forward)

请问 local-domain 的正确用法是什么？我开启的相关配置如下，但查询返回为空：

dnsmasq-lease-file /tmp/dhcp.leases
local-domain lan
mdns-lookup yes

具体现象为：

1. 查询 nas. 或其他 dhcp.leases 里存在的主机，返回 v4 地址
2. 查询 nas.local.，返回 v4+v6 地址，应该是调用了 mdns
3. 查询 nas.lan.，返回为空，日志如下

又试了很多次，可能找到查询 nas.lan. 返回为空的原因了。这个查询是通过 mdns 的，但由于 .lan 不是标准的 mdns 后缀，需要同步修改下挂设备的 mdns 主机名才会有返回值。例如对于 avahi-daemon ，需要在 /etc/avahi/avahi-daemon.conf 中增加

domain-name=lan

之后查询 nas.lan. 才会有返回值。

当前行为

总的来说，新增的 local-domain 的实际效果为：

1. 不启用 mdns，则返回值永远为空
2. 启用 mdns，还需要同步修改客户端广播的 mdns 后缀（默认为 .local）才能查询到

并且，在任何情况下都不会返回 dnsmasq-lease-file 中的记录

期望行为

当 local-domain home.arpa 时，请求 hostname.home.arpa.，返回 dnsmasq-lease-file 中 hostname 的记录，如果没有则通过 mdns 查询 hostname.local.
