How to fix the spacing between icons on waybar?

I really want to fix the spacing between the icons on waybar, so that there is even spacing between all of them.
It's clear that the spacing between e.g. the bluetooth icon and the wifi icon is larger than the spacing between the wifi icon and the volume icon:

The issue seems to be, that some icons in the waybar config file is being cut on the right side. Here's the wifi icon as an example:

Here's the bluetooth icon for reference - the whole icon fits with the quotation marks:

Any ideas for how we can fix this?

Optimally we can find icons, that will fit inside the quotation marks. I don't think that the right approach would be to add spaces or additional padding to solve the issue, as that will likely introduce new issues for people who potentially want to modify waybar - and it simply wouldn't be a clean fix.
I have tried to find alternative icons without success.
