Building On Debian 12.9

Hello there,

It's most likely due to me being new to compiling and editing makefiles, but I am having issues with the install on Debian 12.9 trying the listed tagged release local-debian-v0.2.1

I've tried following the instructions here but I always end up with the following:

$ make

I've tried with the suggested makefile edits and without
I haven't configured stow at all but it doesn't seem necessary

I might be having trouble following with the regular user vs stow user

I compile using:

make -C src

but first make sure you must in folder sc-im first, so make can find src folder.

after succes compiling, i install sc-im using:
make -C src install

I originally tried from within the src/ directory itself.
I see that -C is the flag to cd into the given directory when running make

I did try that as well from the sc-im directory but unfortunately had the same result

have you installed

libxml2-dev
libzip-dev

seems like these are missing?

I have the latter (libzip-dev)
I don't have the former (libmx12-dev)
I don't see it in the apt package manager either

libxml2-dev like xml 2
anyway seems strange that symbols not found. if compiler didn't complain then respective header files are found but for some reason linker is not happy, not finding mentioned libraries.
I am debian 12 user and have no issues with building sc-im

Looked through apt and yes I do have that package installed
