This is great news. I just have a question though. What's stopping me from spinning up another budibase instance to work around that number of workspace limitation? |

When restoring a backup to a fresh Budibase instance, will it reinstate all previous workspaces, or will the restore fail due to multiple workspaces being present? |

Does this not create a problem with importing apps/workspace with data in internal tables? Now only data structure will come through without any data after the import. |

Does this mean that free self hosters will no longer have the 20 user limit? |

There seems to be a bug now. We run open source. When clicked on This page is empty, black. |

Is there anything you can share regarding the timeline for the changes to the user limit? I've begrudgingly started building an app in another tool because It would be used by a group of people in a non-profit/volunteering situation and this announcement is making me reconsider. |

Our recent update to Budibase introduced Workspaces.
With this change, you can:
This shift lays the groundwork for Workspaces to become more than just a collection of apps. Automations will take on a bigger role and become more standalone. We’ll also be adding AI Agents and, eventually, AI Chat to Workspaces, giving your users ways to perform AI-assisted tasks on your data while keeping humans involved where needed.
A workspace can now contain several workflows within one structure, creating a more integrated experience.
With this update, open-source deployments will be limited to a single workspace. This change will enable us to remove the user limit on open-source, allowing an unlimited number of users to collaborate within a single workspace. This will be implemented and announced officially over the next few months. As your needs grow, you can transition to our paid plans, which offer unlimited workspaces to accommodate your expanding usage.
To remain sustainable as a business, we still need to set a limit somewhere. We believe allowing unlimited users helps teams get more value, earlier, while multiple workspaces tend to be useful once Budibase is already well-established in an organization.
If you already have multiple workspaces on open-source, you can keep them!
Thanks and stay tuned - more updates on limits and pricing to come soon.
Mike
